Hana Financial opens new Cheongna headquarters in Incheon - hana financial headquarters
Approximately 2,200 staff moved into the Cheongna-dong headquarters in September.

Hana Financial Group opened its new headquarters in Cheongna-dong, Incheon, on Friday, bringing together finance and technology teams to boost collaboration across affiliates and accelerate artificial-intelligence adoption.

About 2,200 staff from the holding company and ten major affiliates began moving into the site in September. The complex will ultimately accommodate roughly 4,000 financial and IT employees, including personnel from an existing data center.

The launch completes the Hana Financial Town project, which started in 2012. An integrated data center opened in 2017, followed by the Hana Global Campus training facility in 2019.

“The opening of the Cheongna headquarters is the culmination of the Hana Financial Town project and marks the first step in a major transformation to align the capabilities of all group companies and employees,” Chairman Ham Young-joo said at the ceremony.

Hana expects tighter coordination between its financial services and IT, data, and digital units to speed development of new offerings and uncover growth opportunities.

The building rises 15 floors above ground with seven basement levels, covering about 128,000 square meters of floor area.

Open-plan office floors and internal staircases linking multiple levels are intended to encourage interaction among staff from different teams.

Facilities include 5G connectivity, cloud-based virtual desktops and laptops, and a reservation system that lets employees book desks, meeting rooms and other resources via an app or website.

Parts of the structure, such as a sky park, glass deck and a ramp staircase, will be open to the public, allowing the headquarters to serve both employees and the local community.

Incheon Mayor Park Chan-dae said the opening capped years of investment and demonstrated Hana’s commitment amid changing financial and economic conditions.

“Hana Financial kept its promise and put down roots in Cheongna, one step at a time,” Park added, noting the firm is now an Incheon company.

Ham pledged to combine the group’s financial expertise with Incheon’s strengths as a global city, promising support for small businesses and future industries such as AI, biotechnology, culture and energy.

He concluded that Hana will work alongside Incheon as a regional financial partner supporting the growth of the local economy.
